Original Abstract Paintings for Modern Homes
My work sits within contemporary British abstract art, combining rich texture, layered movement and intuitive mark-making. Each original painting is created on canvas using professional materials, ensuring longevity.
Collectors across the UK choose original abstract art because it brings something no mass-produced print ever can — individuality, energy and emotional resonance. An original painting becomes part of your space, reflecting your story, your taste, and your life.
Whether you're searching for: Original abstract art; UK Contemporary abstract paintings for sale; Affordable original art by independent artists; Statement art for living rooms or bedrooms; or Fine art prints from original paintings. You’ll find pieces within my collections that are both accessible and deeply personal.
Art for Connection
Not Just for Decoration
Each painting I create is an exploration of texture, instinct and emotional connection. Working from my studio in Oxfordshire, I create original abstract art for collectors who want something deeply personal, meaningful and entirely unique.
Choosing art is deeply personal. There is no right or wrong choice — only what resonates with you.
When you invest in original art, you’re not just buying a painting. You’re supporting an independent artist, bringing something entirely unique into your home, and creating a space that reflects who you are.

Original Paintings by Jo Wright
Hey there, art lovers and potential new fans, I’m Jo, an abstract painter based in the lovely Oxfordshire countryside. My work is all about capturing the energy of movement, through layered textures, bold marks, and a smattering of chaos. I love letting the process lead the way, so sometimes the journey of making a piece becomes part of the artwork itself.
I’m self-taught, which basically means I’ve spent years figuring out my own quirky methods, drawing inspiration from my neurodivergence, embracing happy accidents (and occasional catastrophes), and seeing where the paint takes me. I like to think of it as controlled chaos with a purpose.
Since launching Jo Wright Creative Ltd. in 2023, I’ve worked tirelessly to get my paintings out into the world. I’ve submitted to exhibitions, entered awards, and put myself forward in galleries, fairs, and online platforms, and it’s been quite the affirming learning experience.
My work has been shortlisted and received honourable mentions, and I love connecting directly with collectors whenever I can.
Alongside original paintings, I sell open edition and limited-edition prints, each one hand-printed and hand-cut, so no two are ever exactly the same. By taking control of every stage of the process, I blur the line between reproduction and original artwork. It’s a hands-on, personal approach that mirrors my process-driven practice and celebrates the quirks, imperfections, and joy in making something by hand.
To sum up, my work is me on a canvas: creative, energetic, and unapologetically playful. Marks are deliberate while some just happen, and sometimes what might feel like a disaster can come together with a single brush stroke.
Every piece reflects persistence, experimentation, and a lot of heart, and I hope it sparks something for you too.
